Sweet P.
I have been coming here for about nine and a half years since they first opened. This que onda family-run restaurant and the people our wonderful and so is the food and the environment..Low-key casual elegant with a lovely outdoor patio. It's a beautiful and romantic place for a date or any occasion.
Their Pho lives up to its name: Phonomrnal. Their broth is delicate, subtle complex, crystal clear and absolutely delicious to the last drop. Noodles cooked perfectly. Their combination beef pho is done perfectly. Their beef balls are the best I've ever had.
They have beer and wine and sake in addition to fresh young coconut and other delicious beverages.
Their Imperial rolls are excellent. Everything I've had here is delicious. But I usually grab gravitate to the Imperial rolls and the combination beef pho. And I am always pleased
The prices are very reasonable.
They are located west of La Cienega on Santa Monica Boulevard, on the north side of the street across from the Shake Shack. I've never had a trouble finding street parking at a meter. -

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. I value it higher than a 3 but it's not quite a 4-star place.
I have mixed feelings and I'll probably go back to check it out one more time before I make a final decision.
The pho is good enough but I want great pho! I've been driving from Hollywood to Cerritos to get great pho (I know, this sounds totally unreasonable unless you're a true foodie like myself). I was hoping to find a local gem in Phonomenal but I am still inclined to drive to Cerritos but I'll give it another shot.
I got the combination beef pho. Portions are large and tasty. I asked for chili oil and I was brought chili sauce. The intestines in the combo soup had a bit of a unpleasant smell but not enough to turn me off. The waiter was ultimately nice but seemed a bit stiff with me at first.
The Thai Iced Tea was okay but was more heavy on the tea than the cream. The proportions were a bit off from what I'm used to. -

Rats .
Large ones - Two - were spotted by several of our patio dining party of 6.
The waiter responded to our comments about it by asking for his tip in cash.
No lie .
Terrible terrible experience : the sooner this building is torn down as planned , the better.
Oh - pho was overly salty & they Served us warm Tap water too.
Never returning ! -

The food here is average to say the least.
Don't park in the Ramada parking lot. They don't validate there. When going west on Santa Monica, you'll likely pass it but shortly after, you'll see a parking lot with white walls that we passed up at first. We had parked at the Ramada and walked over and then a gentlemen, who was the host, let us know that the small parking lot was indeed for their restaurant as well. So we moved our car to that lot which was fairly empty around noon the day after Christmas.
I Ordered fresh spring rolls, but it looked like they used iceberg lettuce that was precut and starting to wilt. It also had shrimp and chicken which was okay. I usually see it with peanut sauce but they brought out a chili sauce instead. The outdoor area is super cute, but the lack of flavor in the pho and spring rolls left little desire to return. -

BAHHHN MI from this place before I eat all their banh mi. The pork was incredibly flavorful and moist. The pickled veggies were slightly sweet just the way I like them, they added a slight acidic element to cut through the fatty pork. The bread wasn't as crispy as I expected it was actually more on the softer side. The service was great, Phil was super friendly and open to conversation. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Phonomenal and the outdoor seating is a huge plus .
